Execution By Hanging, 1800-1850

I just found this site, listing the people that were executed by hanging, from the year 1800 to 1850. It's amazing to see how many of these deaths took place in Virginia. Most appear to be black slaves; one has to wonder how many men and women were innocent of their crimes.
