Remembering Negro League player Wilmer "Red" Fields

This June 4th will mark one year since the death of Wilmer "Red" Fields. Fields, a resident of Manassas, was a star baseball player in the '40s and '50s, winning accolades in various professional leagues, including the famed Negro Leagues of Baseball, playing with the Washington Homestead Grays.
